After many years of resisting, we have come to the point where we need to charge a booking fee on our ticket sales. This is not a decision that we have taken lightly, and we have thought long and hard about how to apply it fairly. Both charitable trusts and local authorities are struggling to maintain levels of funding to The Theatre and this is one of the few options that we have to make up ground without affecting the range of activities and entertainment that we offer.
We have now introduced a £1 per ticket booking fee for in-person, phone and postal bookings (the online booking fees remain unchanged) to cover all ticket sales made. We are choosing to add a booking fee rather than increasing ticket prices, since a large proportion of your ticket fee is passed on to the producers of the show or film, whereas the booking fee is wholly retained by The Theatre.
The booking fee will be limited to a maximum of £5 per transaction, and will not apply to
