Tim Bentinck, “Love your Chocolates”

Tim Bentinck

Tim mixes anecdotes, impressions, comedy songs and ‘live lip-synch’ with a demonstration of radio sound effects and personalised exhortations to ‘Mind The Gap’ from the voice of the Piccadilly Line itself. The only Earl currently working as a professional actor, Tim once found himself doing a radio commercial for dishwasher tablets in the morning, and inspecting the ship’s company of HMS Portland in the afternoon but is best known for his 26 year role as David Archer.  An extraordinary life, a unique man and a very funny show.

The 25th anniversary tour highlights will feature David Nixon’s Song to St Andrew and Christopher Bruce’s Shift, both of which were originally created especially for Ballet Central. The repertoire also includes excerpts from Peter Wright’s Giselle and Michael Pink’s Dracula. Michael Pink’s dramatic narrative piece I Don’t Want to Set The World on Fire and Phillip Aiden’s Let Yourself Go complete this exciting programme. Philip Feeney, Musical Director, will provide live accompaniment during the tour.

William Glassman, artistic director of Ballet Central, explains why the tour is so important “The Ballet Central tour is a chance for audiences to see a varied and highly skilled repertoire by some of the most skilled new dance tale

Karen Simpson (Artistic Director, Oxfordshire Theatre Company) said “This is such an exciting collaboration for the Company. The book captured my imagination many years ago because of its beautiful and sensitive portrayal of young deaf teenager, April, and the strict social setting of the 1920’s. I have always wanted to turn it into a piece of theatre and was delighted when I approached Giles Croft to write the adaptation, that he too was excited by the uniqueness of this project. Melvin Burgess is celebrated as a wo

The story of Alcock and Brown and the first ever non-stop transatlantic flight.  A tale of plucky British pioneers – huddled together against the elements in the tiny cockpit of their converted Vickers Vimy biplane, made almost entirely of wood and canvas.

Captain John Alcock, dashing WW1 Fighter pilot, and Lieutenant Arthur Whitten Brown, navigational genius with a gammy leg, huddled together against the elements in the tiny timber and canvas cockpit of their converted Vickers Vimy biplane – talk about winging it!

Writing duo, Brian Mitchell & Joseph Nixon, have turned the story of the race to conquer the skies over the Atlantic into a fast and furious comic tour-de-force. They also were also head
