On 12 December The Theatre received a letter from Arts Council England South East stating that it is not their intention to renew funding to your organisation from the end of March 2008. We have until 24th January to appeal. Their main reasons are:

"…..we do not consider that [The Theatre] demonstrates the characteristics of a thriving organisation able to deliver strongly for Arts Council England's agenda or that it has a regional or national impact."

The Theatre has written a formal response refuting these observations.
